FAQ
How long can I hire a dress for?
You can hire a dress or gown for either 7 days or 14 days. Longer term rates are negotiable for longer hires.
Do I need to clean the dress before I return it?
No need to clean we will take care of that.
Oh no I stained the dress!
Beware of fake tan and red wine. We suggest you take extra care as dress replacements will be charged if deemed ruined. Please do not attempt to clean the dress – scrubbing and soaking can cause discoloration and the dress will need to be paid for at its retail price, if deemed ruined by Dress Collective.
What if I damaged the dress?
Please be mindful of jewelry or bags which can “pull” threads on the dress. It is your responsibility when it comes to wearing and protecting your dress from Dress Collective. If the dress is damaged the bond may be kept to cover its repairs however if it is not repairable the dress will need to be paid for at a price agreed by Dress Collective.
I changed my mind, can I get a refund?
If you rent the dress, take it home and then decide not to wear it, unfortunately we cannot offer a refund.
Can I try the dresses on before I hire?
Yes of course! If you live locally you can call into our premises located in Ashburton to try on as many dresses as you like. Alternatively if you live outside of Mid Canterbury you can take advantage of our $30 try on service where by you choose 2 dresses to try on in the comfort of your own home. For more detail on this click on the try on service heading.
How do you know if I haven’t worn a dress?
We attach a tag to the front of every dress before it is couriered off. That tag should stay in place if you are simply trying a dress on. Once it is removed no refund can be issued.
